Kenneth Leroy Jungjohan, age 86, of Mendon died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 following a long illness. He was born in Davenport, IA on Dec. 15, 1928 the son of William H. and Myrtle U. (Frazer) Jungjohan. Ken came to Michigan in 1946 from Rock Island, IL. He was married to Phyllis Anderson on July 15, 1950 in Mendon. Ken worked at Simpson Paper Co. in Vicksburg for 42 years. He was also a farmer, raising pigs and cattle at their farm north of Mendon.
Ken is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three sons, William (Lana) Jungjohan of Mottville, Gordon (Denise) Jungjohan of Destrehan, LA, and Kenneth Jr. (Liza) Jungjohan of Milton, FL; eight grandchildren, John (Ashley Jordon) Jungjohan, Michelle (Chris) Ballard, David Phelps, Jay (Carol) Phelps, Cody, Lily, Leslie, and Karina Jungjohan; ten great-grandchildren, Rachel and Samantha Ballard, Sarah and Emily Jungjohan, Anja Jordon, Dustin, Corey, and Chelsea Phelps, Nathaniel and Jeremiah Jungjohan. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, LaVerna Seddon; a daughter and son in law, Linda and Gary Phelps.
Cremation has been conducted. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday Jan. 10, 2015 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial service will begin at 2p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Thoreau May, Pastor of the West Mendon United Methodist Church officiating. Interment of ashes will be in Mendon Cemetery.
