It’s going to take at least a few days to get all the wreckage sorted out from Friday’s 193-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 in Kalamazoo County. That means added frustration for the owners of the cars and trucks involved, who had to leave the vehicles on the highway. Several tow truck company employees tell the Kalamazoo Gazette that they’re urging people to be patient, as some are so badly damaged, it’s difficult to determine what the vehicle once was. Releasing the semis that were towed away won’t be done until Michigan State Police investigators determine it’s safe to do so. When it was all over, one person was dead and 22 others were sent to the hospital. Part of the highway remained closed until the early hours of Sunday. (MRN)
