Three Rivers Health is the latest hospital to implement precautions in light of a spike in reports of the flu.
The temporary measure is now in place and calls for a number of safeguards, including a requirement that visitors must be 12 years of age or older. In addition, emergency-room visitors are limited to two per patient and OB patients will be limited to immediate family members.
Three Rivers Health officials also ask that unless on site for medical care, children should not be in the lobby or waiting-room area.
Anyone unsure of their health or displaying flu-like symptoms will be provided a mouth-covering mask to prevent the spread of germs.
The restrictions will remain in place until the threat of flu has been suppressed.
