Search warrant and arrests in Constantine

Investigators from the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit conducted a controlled narcotics transaction Monday in Constantine, leading to the execution of a search warrant and the arrest of two people.
According to the county sheriff’s department, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 200 block of Meadow Lane. Investigators located multiple prescription drugs consistent with the undercover transaction that occurred earlier.
While officers were conducting the search, an individual arrived at the location looking to purchase prescription medication. The person was taken into custody for frequenting a drug house and arrested on outstanding warrants.
The target of the investigation was taken into custody for three counts of delivery of a controlled substance and maintaining a drug house.
Two children, whose gender and ages were not included in a department media release, were found inside the residence. They were turned over to the custody of their parents.
