Betty Ann Bolender, age 84, of Centreville, passed away Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 at her home. Betty was born in Centreville, MI on September 27, 1930, a daughter of Clarence and Lillian (Grimes) Schrader. She graduated from Centreville High School in 1948. On July 10, 1948, she married Paul William Bolender in Angola, IN. Betty owned and operated Bolender Clothing Store in Centreville from 1964-1978. After retiring from there, she worked in the kitchen at Centreville Schools for 8 years. She enjoyed knitting and flower gardening, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Centreville.
Betty is survived by her husband Paul Bolender; son Rick (Lori) Bolender of Centreville; grandchildren Lee (Sheila) Rohr, Christopher Rohr, Patrick (Dena) Rohr, Angel (Isaac) Newburry, Ashlee (Brian) Suitto, and Jonathan Bolender; step grandchildren John (Melissa) Back, Cody (Stacie) Back, Sam (Heather) Campbell, and Derek Campbell; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister Mary Jane (Dale) Dean of Berrien Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Paulette Rohr, son Tom Bolender, brothers Dale and Donald Schrader.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday from 12 – 3 p.m. at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where Religious services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Dave Peterson Centreville Baptist Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to Three Rivers Health Hospice.
