Janice J. Biland, 88, of White Pigeon, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Bowman House in Three Rivers, following an extended illness.
She was born March 14, 1926, in Saint Clair, a daughter of P. Raymond and Lucille A. (Markle) Borntrager. She was a White Pigeon resident since 1968, coming from Manistee, L’Anse and Pontiac.
She was a homemaker, employed by Chris Craft Boat Company and White Pigeon Community Schools. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and past Cub Scouts den mother. She enjoyed word puzzles and ceramics. In high school, she played basketball.
On Oct. 25, 1947, she married Alfred T. Biland in Algonac. He survives, along with three sons, Craig (Peggy) Biland ofMattawan, Alan (Martha) Biland of Racine, Wis., and Peter Biland of White Pigeon; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Nancy ( George) LaParl of Algonac; and a half-brother, Edward (Grace) Currier of Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Michael A. Biland, Oct. 23, 1977.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has been conducted. Private burial of cremains will take place in White Pigeon Township Cemetery, Donations may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Envelopes are available at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, which is in charge of arrangements.
