Leo Hurley, 82

Leo Russell Hurley, age 82, of White Pigeon, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Three Rivers Health, following a short illness. He was born June 22, 1932, in Rensselaer, Ind., a son of Leo B. and Martha J. (Critser) Hurley. He had been a resident of White Pigeon since 1974, coming from Rensselaer. He was a high school graduate and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Haulmark Industries in Bristol, Ind. He was a member of Bristol American Legion Post #143, DAV of Elkhart, Ind., 40&8 Commanders Club and Cass County Conservation Club of Union. He loved fishing and mushroom hunting.

On May 29, 1954, he married Mary Catherine Miller in Rensselaer. She survives, a long with sons Michael Hurley of Douglas and Mark (Terri) Hurley of White Pigeon; daughters Cheryl Wolgamood and Catherine Hurley of White Pigeon; grandchildren Beth (Eric), Christi, Adam (April), Jordan, Dain and Amanda (Mike); great-grandchildren Samson, Emery, Jonas, Quinn and Declan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, IleneMathew.

Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Farrand Funeral Home, 300 N. Kalamazoo St., White Pigeon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Manning of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, White Pigeon, with full military rites by DAV of Elkhart. Donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
