Donald A. Holloway, age 70, of Decatur, MI passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 11, 2015 at home.
He was born August 30, 1944 in South Bend, IN the son of Arthur and Ferol (Malone) Holloway. On April 11, 1964 in South Bend, IN he married Suzanne I. Celmer and she preceded him in death February 20, 2006.
After graduation from high school, Don joined the Navy and when he returned he was a sales rep for the mobile home industry. He bought his house in Marcellus in 1973. He was the director of the CCD program at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Marcellus. He was also a long time employee of the Mater Funeral Home and Mater-Ralston Funeral Home. Don enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and watching movies.
He is survived by his father, Arthur; eight children, Matthew (Becky) Holloway, Carolyn (Brian) Boyer both of Marcellus, Mark (Barb) Holloway of Lawton, MI, Carla (Janis) Gaikis and Caren (Brian) Lamoreaux both of Decatur, Michael (Angela) Holloway of Shelby Twp., MI, Mitchell (Elaine) Holloway of El Paso, TX and Cathleen (Matt) Choals of Spring Lake, MI; one sister Pamela (Paul) VanDyken of Rockford, MI; 23 grandchildren with #24 on the way.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus with a Rosary service at 7:30.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 P.M. Friday, April 17, 2015 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Marcellus. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Nicholsville. Memorials may be directed to St. Margaret Mary Church or the Marcellus Food Pantry.
