State Rep. Aaron Miller is inviting World War II veterans to join him in Lansing May 7 to take part in the 2015 Honor Drive, marking the 70-year anniversary of the victory of Allied troops over the European Axis.
Miller said he will recognize World War II veterans from the 59th House District who join him for the celebration of VE Day.
Miller encourages World War II veterans who can come to Lansing or be driven by family members to join him for what he has labeled the 2015 Honor Drive.
Veterans who plan to attend are encouraged to contact his office with the name of the veteran, the branch of service in which he or she served, the theater of operations, the years during which military service occurred and one or two sentences describing their role in the military.
Miller and state Sen. John Proos will join the veterans for photos in the Capitol rotunda and announce their presence from the House and Senate floors.
Veterans interested in attending can contact Miller’s office via email at AaronMiller@house.mi.gov, or by writing him at Rep. Aaron Miller, N-993 House Office Building, P.O. Box 30014, Lansing, MI 48909.
