A 44-year-old Dowagiac man was arraigned Wednesday on charges of murder and assault with intent to commit murder following an incident Tuesday night in Cass County.
According to Sheriff Joe Underwood, Terry Ray Stineback was arrested shortly after police arrived to the scene of the shooting, a location on Flanders Street in Wayne Township.
Upon investigation, police found Stineback allegedly shot his wife, 42-year-old Laura Jean Stineback. Deputies said the two were in an argument and Stineback allegedly pulled a gun and allegedly shot his wife around 9:40 p.m. She died at the scene as the result of multiple gunshot wounds.
Their 9-year-old daughter was released to the care of relatives, Underwood said.
