Milan Puglia, 75

Peter Milan Puglia, age 75, of Three Rivers, died Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Three Rivers Health Emergency Room. He was born in Highland Park, MI on March 4, 1940 the son of Peter and Lorraine (Gowing) Puglia. Milan graduated from Bronson High School and attended business college in Battle Creek. He was a butcher by trade and had worked at Central Meat Market in Sturgis and the Hoffman Street Grocery in Three Rivers, before purchasing Binando’s Market on Eighth Street in Three Rivers. After a fire he rebuilt his business known as Puglia’s Processing just outside of Three Rivers. When he wasn’t working, Milan enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Milan was married to Norma (Plucimski) Palmer in August of 1978. She survives along with his mother, Lorraine Puglia of Coldwater; 2 daughters, Julie (Joe) DeGraf of Maryland, and Chris Gonzalez of Lansing; a son, Anthony Puglia of Athens; 2 step-sons, David (Connie) Palmer and Larry (Jo) Palmer both of Sturgis; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marsha (Mike) Poling of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by his father.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday May 15, 2015 at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel, 305 Rock River Ave., Three Rivers with Rev. Carlton Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. An online register is available at www.efhchapel.com

    A good guy, a great team-mate. Milan got screwed on 2 bad calls in the first period of our State quarterfinal game against Hudson. We still talked about it at our 50th class reunion.
