Participants sought for parade

The St. Joseph County Marine Corps Detachment 1401 is seeking participants to join its members at Three Rivers’ annual Memorial Day parade next week.
Detachment Chaplain Bill Stevens said the parade this year will step off at 10 a.m., one hour later than in the past. Consequently, the lineup for the parade is at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Kelsey and North Main streets.
Stevens said anyone wishing to participate can call 496-3695 to reserve a slot.
He said there will also be a short ceremony at Riverside cemetery with a guest speaker.
Meanwhile, Mendon’s parade this year is canceled due to the ongoing roadwork in the downtown district. Stevens, however, said there will be a ceremony at Reed Park Pavilion at 1 p.m. Monday.
