State Rep. Miller’s first child born

The first child for State Rep. Aaron Miller and his wife, Alex, was born at 1:02 a.m. Friday at Sturgis Hospital.
Jael Tonya weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces, and measured 19 3/4 inches. She is the first grandchild on both sides of the family
Miller, who turns 28 next month, said he was in session Wednesday. With his cell phone fully charged and close at hand, he said he was awaiting a call at any moment, considering Jael was already four days overdue.
He said he wound up putting in a full day of work. From Lansing, he headed straight to Sturgis Hospital. Alex, 27, was in labor for a considerable time, Miller said.
Miller, who is the youngest of Michigan’s 110 state representatives, is in the first year of a two-year stint after succeeding term-limited Matt Lori.
