Lois M. Munson, age 84, of Constantine, MI, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Lois was born in Constantine on November 24, 1930, a daughter of Johnny and Lorene (Smith) Leister. She graduated from Constantine High School in 1948. On September 26, 1948 she married Richard W. Munson at the Messiah Lutheran Church parsonage in Constantine. Lois was a bank teller for First National Bank, and also a secretary for Centreville Schools, St. Joseph County Road Commission and Fairview Nursing Home. Lois enjoyed mushroom hunting, casinos, going to Florida and eating out. Her favorite pastime was crocheting afghans and baby sets for family and friends.
Surviving Lois are her husband Richard Munson, Constantine; daughters Linda (James) Straley, Three Rivers; Penny (Mike) Conklin, Constantine; son Terry (Sandy) Munson, Three Rivers; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Patsy Baker; brother Larry (Merle) Leister; and uncle Leroy (Madelyn) Leister. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Pearl Leister, grandson Shane Powell, and many aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 4-8 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM. Pastor John Booko of Riverside Church, Three Rivers will officiate. Interment will be in Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Alzheimer’s Association.
