Sisters arrested after raid on home of man killed by police

Western Michigan authorities have arrested two women during a raid on the home of a man killed by police two weeks earlier.

The Kalamazoo Gazette says police raided the Kalamazoo-area house late Saturday after reports of gunshots, and they seized 27 weapons that include loaded rifles, shotguns and handguns.

Police say 39-year-old Amy Pelletier and 34-year-old Michelle Pelletier refused to comply with a search warrant. They say officers fired tear gas into the house in suburban Portage, and the women fled.

They were arraigned Monday on charges of obstructing police and for previous warrants. It’s unknown if they have lawyers.

Police fatally shot 37-year-old Sean Pelletier and critically wounded his 29-year-old brother Aaron Pelletier after a chase May 14. Police say Sean Pelletier had a loaded assault rifle. (AP)
