Helen Jordon, 87

Helen Louise Jordon, age 87, of Vicksburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the presence of her family. She was born in Jackson, MI on May 9, 1928 the youngest of four children born to the late Harry and Mabel (Enos) Evans. She was married to Robert James Jordon on July 3, 1948 at Maple Grove Bible Church near Homer. Helen was a homemaker, and was the organist and Sunday School Treasurer at Bible Baptist Church near Coldwater. She volunteered at New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson. She also volunteered at Camp Elvin, and participated with the Ladies Missionary Group and Release Time Bible Classes at Factoryville Bible Church where she has been a member since 1980. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and working in the garden. She especially loved time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Helen is survived by five children, Suzanne Smink of Vicksburg, James “Jim” (Sheryl) Jordon of Rock Hill, SC, Shirley (Tony) Miklusicak of Grand Rapids, Julie (Carl) Gunderson of Grand Rapids, and Bonnie (George) Neal of Galesburg; thirteen grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert and her daughter, Carolyn Owens, both in 1985; and by three brothers, Burford, Glen, and Lloyd Evans.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Factoryville Bible Church, 33650 Factoryville Road, Athens, MI. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7th at the church with Pastor Fred Goebert officiating. Burial will be in Girard Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to either Grace Hospice or to Camp Elvin at Factoryville Bible Church.
