A 53-year-old man from Union was arrested following an incident at a business in Cass County’s Porter Township Monday night.
Cass County Sheriff Joe Underwood said the man walked into George’s Café shortly after 10 p.m. and was in possession of a rifle. Underwood said the man threatened patrons at the bar.
A group of patrons were able to disarm the suspect and detain him until deputies arrived.
Deputies recovered the weapon, described as a .22-caliber semi-auto rifle, and seized it for evidence. The weapon was not loaded and none of the patrons present reported any injuries.
