Members of the group TR Cares plan to set up a site at North Main Street and Enterprise Drive 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today in an effort to collect a minimum of 1,165 valid signatures for a recall of three members of the Three Rivers Board of Education.
Sherrie Nowicki, who established and heads TR Cares, said a two-day blitz last week, during which a 22-hour session was staged for signature-collections, yielded comfortably more than half the signatures necessary for the matter to appear on the November ballot.
The recall targets Waneta Truckey, Carl Barth and Mike Bosma after the board’s April dismissal of athletic director Pete Anderson, dean of educational services Kevin Hamilton and middle school principal Bradley Coon.
She said the goal is to have at least a 200-signature cushion above the 1,165 minimum to compensate for signatures from people who are either not a registered voter or not a resident of the district.
Friday is the deadline for the signatures to be turned in to county clerk Lindsay Oswald.
