Bob Vaughn, 83

Robert “Bob” Lee Vaughn, age 83, of Three Rivers passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 12, 1932 in Perry, MI the son of John L and Hazel (Kelley )Vaughn.

Bob was a jack of all trades. He served his country in the U.S Navy until his honorable discharge. In 1952, Bob was united in marriage to the late Peggy Vaughn in Houghton Lake, MI. He retired from the Lansing State Journal and also General Motors formally known as Fisher Body and Hydra-matic of Three Rivers. He also was employed as a deputy sheriff transporting prisoners in Carlsbad, New Mexico as well as a prison guard in Milwaukee, WI. Bob also drove mining trucks at the Pima Mine in Tucson, AZ and managed his own janitorial service in Lansing, MI.

He was an active member of the Three Rivers Elks #1248 and Three Rivers Eagles #2303.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Peggy Jane Vaughn in 2010; son, Robert Steven Vaughn; sisters, Dorothy and Ethel; brothers, Milo, Jesse, Jack & Kenny, and four brother-in-laws.

He leaves behind to share his memories his loving memory daughters, Brenda McKinley of Three Rivers and Sharon (Bob) Tucek of Austin, TX; brother, Dale D. Vaughn of Holt, MI; sister-in-law, Bennie Barnes of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Matthew( Megan) Tucek of Midland, TX, Heather Tucek of Austin, TX, Cindi McKinley of Carlsbad, NM, and Tracie McKinley of Lubbock, TX.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Maddox officiating. In accordance with family wishes cremation will be conducted following services.
