St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough has released the names of the two men involved in a fatal shooting Thursday evening in Three Rivers.
McDonough said Westley George, 28, of Three Rivers faces a number of charges after fatally shooting Eugene Jackson, 24.
The incident, McDonough said, is believed to be the result of a dispute between the two, and took place at 6:20 p.m. in an alley east of South Main Street and north of Broadway Street
He said investigators believe Jackson was unarmed at the time of the shooting. George, meanwhile, has been charged with open murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm. George was arraigned earlier today.
McDonough expressed his gratitude to the Three Rivers Police Department, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, White Pigeon and Constantine Police departments, and members of Station 3 fire department.
