White Pigeon man free on bond

A 65-year-old White Pigeon man accused of unlawful imprisonment and felonious assault is free on bond.
Daniel Furlong was released after posting $50,000 cash/surety bond Thursday evening.
It is alleged that on July 28, Furlong attempted to hold a 10-year-old girl against her will. The victim told police she was walking by Furlong’s trailer in Colonial Estates mobile home community when he called her over to his garage to help with moving some items.
The victim said that once inside the garage, Furlong pushed her against a car and put his hands over her mouth. Furlong then reached into a tool box and pulled out a steak knife, authorities said.
The victim screamed and fled from the area. In doing so, she received scratches on her shoulder from being held by Furlong. She also told officers that during her attempt to get free, Furlong reached for an extension cord.
Police executed a search warrant and recovered several steak knives and cords.
