Habitat for Humanity looking for partner families

Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County is seeking candidates to be Habitat partner families. Habitat plans to have three homes available for occupancy by families by June 2016 – one each in Sturgis, White Pigeon and Three Rivers.
Chris Amones, a Habitat board member and chairperson of the Family Selection/ Partnering Committee said in partnership with a working family, Habitat volunteers build safe, affordable homes.
The Habitat partner family helps build their own home and then Habitat helps arrange financing for the family to purchase the home, through a no- or low-interest mortgage.
To be eligible to be a Habitat family, an informational meeting will address full details during a meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene on South Lakeview Drive in Sturgis.
