Successful opening day for St Joseph County Grange Fair

Sunny weather and a large crowd on hand to see this year’s headline entertainment contributed to a successful opening day of the St. Joseph County Grange Fair Sunday.
The 165th fair was busy from the start of the day and remained steady throughout the afternoon and evening, fair officials said. Thousands of people crowded into the grandstand to see and hear musical act Dan + Shay, a country/western duo based in Nashville.
Today is Kids Day at the fair and the midway opens at noon.
Highlights include 4-H horse, goat and swine shows, harness racing, bingo, and at 7 p.m., SJO Motocross on the grandstand track.
