THREE RIVERS HEALTH BOARD REPORTS SEASON OF GROWTH

At its September meeting,Three Rivers Health Board of Trustees reported net income of $80,944 for August and net income of $259,511 for the year, which is $94,898 above budget and $1,424,843 above prior year.
“We are not only on firm ground financially but are in a season of growth, thanks to the support, service, excellence and leadership – from our employees, senior staff and the board,” said Chief Executive Officer, William Russell.
Dr. Michael T. Maskill’s brother, Dr. James Maskill, has recently joined him at his clinic. Both physicians practice Podiatry (foot and ankle specialists) and will be seeing patients along with performing surgeries at Three Rivers Health.
Hospital executives reported as well that discussions began with West Michigan Cancer Center to expand physician hours for oncology service beginning the first of the year.
The Center for Wound Healing in now producing a positive margin and is expected to go up and continue into 2016. Venita Massey, Clinical Nurse Manager, held an awareness seminar with 20 local nurses attending and learning about wound care and the center.
Additionally, Studer leadership activities continue to move forward. The hospital has begun to hard-wire the Leadership Evaluation Module (LEM). Beginning in 2016 this instrument will be the way in which all leaders throughout the system will be evaluated. This initiative will be ongoing.
An update was given on the Southern Michigan Rural Accountable Care Organization (ACO). An application was successfully submitted to be a part of this ACO along with six regional rural hospitals and one from Wisconsin.
Finally, the board reported the HealthTRAC Open was successful this year. There were 39 teams and over $7,000 raised.
