An annual fall event that typically draws participants from at least four states is set to take place again this weekend.
The Three Rivers Area Fall Color Tour, a one-day event started in the 1950s, returns Sunday with 13 stops. Sponsored by the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, the tour is a self-guided event in which participants are able to spend as much or little time at any or all of the locations.
Meyer Broadway Park typically serves as the center of the event. In addition to hosting the Scarecrow Fest, sponsored by the St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation Department, the site will also offer country and bluegrass music, arts and crafts booths, hay rides, a pumpkin patch and pumpkin painting, kiddie games, food vendors, and cookies and cider.
Event organizers said families also like the tour because it’s not an expensive day.
Prospective participants are encouraged to check out the website trchamber.com, as start and end times vary by location.
