Thomas (Tom) Chiddister, age 81, of Three Rivers, Michigan went to be with his Lord and savior on October 16, 2015, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.
He was born on October 30, 1933, in Cassopolis, Michigan. Tom retired from his own saw sharping business (Quality Tool). He also worked at North American Products, Cass Wire, the logging business and he ran his own sawmill business. Tom served two years in the army, stationed in France. Following retirement Tom enjoyed designing and making furniture. His greatest enjoyment in life was his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents John and Yula Chiddister, (In-laws) LeRoy and Virginia Rhodes, Sister Rebecca Norton and Brother Wally Chiddister.
Surviving are the love of his life his wife of 58 years, Sharon (Rhodes) Chiddister; daughters, Cindy and Terry Hammond of Vicksburg, MI, and Laura and David Wilson of Zeeland, MI; grandchildren and great grandchildren Courtney and Nick DeYoung (Annalee and Morgan), Jordan Hammond of Vicksburg, MI, Schyuler and (Stacy Hulst)Wilson (Olivia, Liam, and Hudson) of Zeeland, MI, Nicholas and Sarah Wilson (Jacquelyn and Katelyn) of Caledonia, MI; brothers, John and Ann Chiddister of Marcellus, MI, William and Diane Chiddister of Three Rivers, Dale and Sherry Chiddister of Springdale, AR, Jeff and Sherry Chiddister of Volina, MI, sister Nettie Childress of Coldwater, MI and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015, with Rev. Trent Hammond officiating, at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold Street, Three Rivers, MI.
Memorial donations may be donated to the Charity of One’s Choice. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
