Carl Floyd “Ham” Hammond, 92, passed away on Nov. 17, 2015, in his home.
Born in Kalamazoo, he was the son of the late Arthur and Sylvia Hammond and husband to the late Frances Hammond. He was a retired Master Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy and a veteran of WWII and Korea. He graduated Three Rivers High School in 1942 and fought Golden Gloves. He never met a stranger and his quick wit will be very missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Karla Gustafson Martinsen and husband James, Deborah Johnson, Lisa Luke and Cynthia Thornton; sons, Carlo Hammond and wife Lynda, Alan Snead and wife Jane, and Terry Hammond and wife Jennifer; sisters-in-law, Eileen Hammond; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his sister, Roberta Watson.
