Don Lafler, 71

Donald Lee Lafler, age 71, of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at his home.  He was born in Three Rivers on March 11, 1944,  a son of Elwood and Maxine (Schweitzer) Lafler.  He attended the Nottawa Stone School.  Don was self-employed as a handyman and mechanic, owning Don’s Small Engine Repair. Don enjoyed model airplanes, hunting, fishing, CB radios, and especially loved his great-grandchildren.  He was a member of the RC Airplane Club at the Three Rivers Airport and the Antique Engine Club in Jones.

Surviving Don are his partner of 38 years Carol Hargrove, Three Rivers; granddaughter Ashley Walker, Three Rivers; daughter Carman Purzycki, Cleveland; great grandchildren Cheyenne Purzycki, Skylar Walker, and Alyssia Ann Walker; step-children Gleo Irwin, Clarissa Irwin, and Michelle Irwin, all Three Rivers; grandchildren Megan Pettigrass, Tennessee, Donald Rhodes, Sturgis, Makayla Alvarado, Cleveland, and Shontteea (Tyrel) Malone, Cleveland; brother Larry (Judy) Lafler, Centreville; sisters Sharon Lafler, Three Rivers and Linda (Richard) Forrester, New York; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, nephew Seneca “B”, sister Lois Gest, and brother Rodney Lafler, Sr.

Cremation has taken place.  Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 9-11 AM with Memorial services following at 11 AM at the Eley Funeral Home, Centreville.  Pastor Jay Bailey of Three Rivers Bible church will officiate.  Memorial contributions can be made to Eley Funeral Home to help the family with expenses.  Online messages may be left for the family at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
