Irene M. Neidlinger “Mrs. Irene,” beloved by many, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at her home. She was born in Chicago, Ill. on Aug. 26, 1937 to John and Barbara Geier.
Irene moved to Three Rivers as a toddler. She attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1955. On Sept. 15, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jerry L. Neidlinger. Together they had four children Jim, Kim, Bob and Kathy. Irene loved working at Immaculate Conception School as a pre-school teacher’s aide for over 13 years, where she was known as “Mrs. Irene” and adored by all.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jim; and nephew, John T. Geier. She is survived by her sister, Mary (Carl) Haldy; daughter, Kim (Mike) Olney; son, Bob Neidlinger; daughter, Kathy Sebring; “other son,” Brett Sass; granddaughter, Jessica (Craig) Kohler; grandson, Kevin (Stephanie) Olney; granddaughter, Allie Sebring; great-grandchildren, Hunter Kohler and Rebecca Wallman.
Irene was a loving friend to many and was known for her kindness, her talent for oil painting and her love of children. She loved children so much; she became grandma to many others, including Anna, Aaron, Alysa, Alex and Adam Dumont and Nathan and Madeline Adams.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. Interment of ashes will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
