TR Cares presented petition to commissioners

A representative from the group TR Cares last week presented to county commissioners a petition signed by a number of registered voters asking for a review of Lindsay Oswald’s appointment as county clerk.
Furthermore, Doug Bingaman said the petition urges commissioners to issue a public statement, asking Oswald to not seek the position when it appears before voters next year.
TR Cares has been at odds with Oswald since August, when she invalidated a number of signatures on petitions seeking the recall of Three Rivers school board members Waneta Truckey, Mike Bosma and Carl Barth.
Bingaman said TR Cares has started the process of seeking the recall of Barth and fellow board of education members Pete Bennett, Diana DeGraaf and Erin Nowak. Petitions for language review were submitted to Oswald’s office this week and a clarity/factual hearing is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. Nov. 18 before the county’s three-person Election Commission.
Commissioners did not respond, following protocol during the Citizen Comments portion of the meeting; Oswald declined to comment.
