A driver who police said fell asleep at the wheel caused a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning in Constantine Township.
Sheriff’s deputies said a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Constantine man was northbound on U.S. 131 when the vehicle drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a SUV driven by a 31-year-old Three Rivers man.
The Constantine man, whose name was not stated in a department media release, was cited for improper lane use. He was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Three Rivers Health for treatment of minor injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, which took place around 4:30 a.m.
