CTA offers free rides home

New Year’s Eve revelers in St. Joseph County will once again have the benefit of a free ride home at the end of the night.
For the seventh time in eight years, the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority is providing free rides home, with pick-up and drop-off service anywhere in the county.
CTA director Steve Yorks said the program costs between $500 and $600 to offer, but
the Three Rivers-based agency is in the process of securing financial donations from area businesses wishing to help offset the expense of hiring two drivers for the six-hour offer.
Riders can make a donation if they choose.
The service starts at 10 p.m. Thursday and concludes at 4 a.m. Friday. Advance reservations will not be accepted.
