State Rep. Aaron Miller this week praised House Republicans for efforts to attain key goals during the first half of the 2015-16 legislative session.
Miller said leadership stressed meeting objectives set by the House Republican Action Plan, a document unveiled in February with an unprecedented 78 goals set to continue Michigan’s comeback. At the half-way mark of the legislative session, 51 percent of the Action Plan items have been approved by the House, including 49 percent of the objectives that have been signed into law.
Miller said the goals that have been met include passing a sustainable and long-term road plan to fix Michigan’s transportation system. Miller authored one of the bills in the road package to make sure competitive bidding is used on a majority of projects.
In addition to achieving a responsible budget, Miller said the House has enacted other important policy initiatives to move Michigan’s economy forward.
