Parks and Rec looking at mountain bike trail

St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation Director Jaymes MacDonald said he plans to work on the creation of a bike trail at the county’s premier park.
He said the plan for a trail up to 12 miles long at Meyer Broadway Park is being studied. The trail would be created specifically for use by mountain bikes.
MacDonald said if plans fall into place, he expects work on the project to begin next fall. The majority of the work, he said, can be performed internally by parks and recreation staff, though volunteers would be solicited for assistance.
Input on the proposal, he said, is being provided by Southwest Michigan Mountain Bike Association.
