The attorney representing the leader of the grass-roots group TR Cares issued a cease-and-desist order to Three Rivers Community Schools Superintendent Jean Logan.
Kelly Ward – whose client, Sherrie Nowicki, sought the directive – issued the two-page notice to Logan Monday. Nowicki read the order to board members during a special meeting Tuesday morning to deal with two student-expulsion matters.
Nowicki said she requested the order after Logan allegedly sent an email to the state owner of the real estate firm for which Nowicki works as an agent. The notice by Ward states that Logan is “hereby directed to cease and desist all defamation of Sherrie Nowicki’s character and reputation.”
Nowicki did not share details of the email, other than to say it attacked her professionally and personally. She said copies of Logan’s email were distributed to board members Tuesday.
Logan, in her second year as chief of the county’s second-largest school district, did not respond to Nowicki. Afterward, however, Logan said she plans to keep her focus on providing a quality education for students.
