Andrea Yeager, 71

Our precious Andrea Sue (Eash) Yeager, age 71, of Centreville, went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by her family January 8, 2016.  She was born August 15, 1944, in Ft. Wayne, IN, a daughter of John and Erma (Haarer) Eash.  The first years of her childhood were lived in Grabill, IN with her parents and four brothers. The family moved to Findley, MI, where she lived until she was 20 years old.  She was a graduate of Bethany Christian High School. On September 19, 1964, she married Merle Milton Yeager, of Hagerstown, MD.  After residing in Three Rivers for several years, Merle and Andrea moved to Centreville in 1976 with their four children.  Andrea enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. There was always an abundance of canned and frozen foods from the garden on hand for her family.  She loved playing games and could beat almost anyone at a word game.  She had a love for music and singing.

As a young adult, her family gave singing concerts at area churches. Music filled the Yeager house and occasionally you could find her snapping her fingers and dancing in the kitchen.  She was a very talented seamstress and sewed countless amounts of clothing, crafts, and quilts over the years.  She was a passionate reader; the Bible being her favorite book.  She adored her six grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  Over the years, Andrea had several jobs, some of which included, The Quiltmaker’s Shop, Tribbett’s Clothing, Sturgis Public Library and doing some home health care.

Andrea was an active member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church for 60 years.  She loved singing in the choirs, teaching Sunday school, and Bible school.  She participated in the Ladies’ Sewing Group and many Bible studies. She also served as the church librarian for several years.

Andrea is survived by her husband of 51 years, Merle Yeager, mother Erma Eash, sons Kevin (Diana) Yeager, of Centreville, Darren (Jodi) Yeager of Archbold, OH, daughters Cinda (Loren) Miller of Sturgis, Tana (Matt) Bontrager of Shipshewana, her grandchildren, Emily Miller, Alex Miller, Vaughn Miller, Jasmine Miller, all of Sturgis, and Courtney Yeager and Charity Yeager, both of Centreville.  She was preceded in death by her father John Eash, and her brothers Lowell Eash and Richard Eash.  We are a very blessed family to have had such a wonderful, caring lady in our family.

The family will receive friends and family Tuesday, January 12 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Locust Grove Mennonite Church (29525 Findley Road, Burr Oak).  Services celebrating the life of Andrea will be held Wednesday, January 13 at 10 AM at the church with Pastor Bill Beck officiating.  Interment will follow in Locust Grove Mennonite Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Health Care Center or to the family.  Online messages may be left for the family at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
