Investigation leads to drug arrests

Three people were arrested last week on drug-related charges following a several-month investigation by the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit.
Sheriff’s deputies responded Friday to a residence in the 20000 block of South River Road in Lockport Township.
Investigators had received information about a location where it was suspected that methamphetamine production was taking place. Deputies obtained a search warrant and once inside, they found methamphetamine components, controlled substances, marijuana and usage items for both.
Three adults were charged with operating and maintaining a meth lab, possession of controlled substances and marijuana, and maintaining a drug house.
Meanwhile, Child Protective Services was called to remove and care for a child inside the residence.
