Jose E. Sepulveda, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Three Rivers Health. He was born in Chicago, IL on April 16, 1944, the son of James W. Shannon and Peggy P. Jackson. Jose was a veteran of the Korean War, having served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired as a letter carrier from the United States Postal Service. Jose was a gifted musician and artist, had quite a sense of humor and was a life-long intellectual, always eager to learn more. Jose’s most important asset in his life was his family and he leaves them with a legacy to be cherished forever. He is survived by his wife, Ann L. (Plonkey) Sepulveda; children, Mindera (Sam) Tucker, Julio Sepulveda, Cristel (Juan) Palma, Carmen (Mike) Schartiger, Melissa Keith and Deanna (Brian) Uriegas; 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Also surviving are his step-children, Carolyn (Steve) Frohrep, Michael, Christine and Harold Cox; sisters, Claudette Shannon, Paulette Thomas and Laura Swafford; brother, Eddie Williams and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Jose was preceded in death by his father and son, Joe Sepulveda. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 beginning at 12:00 PM at Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers, MI 49093. Burial will take place at Mendon Cemetery.
