Ruby Steiner, 71, of White Pigeon, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Goshen Hospital. She was born in VanWert County, OH on March 21, 1944, daughter of Glen and Viola (Gibson) Copsey. Ruby graduated from Constantine High School in 1962. She married Dennis Steiner on June 17, 1962 at Trinity Missionary Church. She received her cosmetology license from the American Beauty College in Kalamazoo and owned Ruby’s Family Hair Care for 30 years retiring in 2010. She was a member of Porter Baptist Church, drove bus for Constantine Schools, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Ruby’s family would like to give a special thanks to Goshen Hospital and Cancer Center for their outstanding care and personal attention.
Surviving are husband Dennis; son Robert (Kevin Staweke) Steiner, Sterling Heights; daughters Lisa Steiner, Mishawaka, Tami (Barry) Oldenburg, White Pigeon; grandchildren Katlin (Matt) Thomas, Kylie Oldenburg, and Kurtis Oldenburg; great-grandsons Wyatt Thomas and Easton Thomas (expected in April); sister Cindy (Bob) Wilson, White Pigeon; sister-in-law Ann Copsey, Three Rivers, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Copsey, and sister Dorothy D’Haese.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday, 3-7 PM at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine. Religious services will take place Thursday, 11 AM at Porter Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Peterson officiating. Interment will be at 2 PM at Peek Cemetery.
