Teen fleeing police slams into another car, killing driver

A motorist pulling from a driveway in a southwestern Michigan retail strip has been killed after her vehicle was slammed into by another car fleeing police.

Police said in a release that Kalamazoo officers tried to pull over a 17-year-old driver about 9 p.m. Saturday for a traffic violation.

A police officer in Portage spotted the car about 15 minutes later speeding through a parking lot and turned on the patrol car’s lights and sirens.

The teen continued driving until striking the vehicle driven by the 33-year-old woman from Paw Paw.

The 17-year-old from Kalamazoo and his 16-year-old passenger were not injured in the crash. The driver has been arrested and is facing charges.  (AP)
