Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Christy Trammell said she was told this week the community did not advance in an economic-impact contest sponsored by Frontier Communications.
After being selected in April as one of 50 quarterfinalists from a pool of 400 applicants in the America’s Best Communities competition, Three Rivers was awarded $50,000 for making the cut last year. The funds were used to develop a revitalization plan for the old Three Rivers Hospital property.
The list of semifinalists has been narrowed to 15; a top three group of winners will be selected later this year, with $3 million going to the first-place community, $2 million to second place and $1 million to third.
