Bill Eicholtz, 75

Billie Eugene Eicholtz, age 75, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at his adult foster care home in Portage. He was born in Sherman Township on Jan. 28, 1941 the son of Clyde D. and Caroline M. (Schaffer) Eicholtz. He had worked at the ARCH Workshop in Centreville. Bill loved attending the St. Joseph County Fair each year, and especially enjoyed watching the horse-pulls and the Clydesdales. He enjoyed watching for deer in the natural setting outside his room.

Bill is survived by a brother, Irven “Ike” Eicholtz and his wife, Nancy of Vicksburg; two sisters, Doris Fitch of Three Rivers and Sue Watson of Mendon; sisters in law, Jane Eicholtz of Three Rivers and Phyllis Eicholtz of St. Petersburg, FL; and his best friend, Carl. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Richard; and by two sisters,, Lois Cripps and Arlene “Peggy” Eicholtz.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Moorepark Cemetery with Pastor Martin Culver of the Center Park United Methodist Church officiating. Memorials will be directed to the Special Olympics. Arrangements were by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
