The St. Joseph County Road Commission repaired potholes in more than 800 miles of roads and removed snow from more than 1,000 miles of roadways in 2015.
The information was presented last week to the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners as part of the road commission’s annual report.
Past board chairman John Bippus said other work completed last year included more than 60 miles of chip-and-seal application, 110 miles of sod cutting, more than 1,000 miles of roadside mowing, replacement of three small and six large culvert structures, 110 miles of centerline and edge striping, and replacement of bridges on Decker Road in Colon Township and Silver Street in Mendon Township.
Also, a new bridge on North River Road in Constantine Township replaced a three-culvert crossing.
