Mary Young, 84

Mary J. Young, age 84, of Constantine, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born April 1, 1931, a daughter of George and Vira (Gilbert) Tilford. Mary graduated from Constantine High School in 1949. On May 1, 1954, she married Raymond Young at Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine. Mary was active in school and community for her children and grandsons. She will always be remembered for her skills as a seamstress and for her great cooking. Mary and Ray enjoyed many outdoor adventures together while hunting and fishing.

Surviving are her husband Raymond Young, Constantine; daughter Sally (Jim) Rockelein, Leonidas; grandchildren Jeff Young, Constantine, Joe Young, Grand Rapids, Jason (Kelly) Munson, Constantine, Joshua Munson, Leonidas, Jessica (Kevin) Wayne, Climax, Maggie Rockelein, Leonidas, and Mychael Rockelein, Leonidas; great granddaughter Madison Munson, Constantine; brother Harold (Jean) Tilford, Three Rivers; sister Barbara (Larry) Gracey, Portage; sister-in-law Ann King, White Pigeon; brother-in-law Charles (Carol) Young, Ohio; and daughter-in-law Donna Young, Constantine. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeff Young, brother and sister-in-law Charles and Bea Tilford, sister and brother-in-law Julia and Willard Sutton, and brother-in-law William King.

Religious services will be held Thursday at 1 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, with Pastor Dennis Smith, Messiah Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Constantine Cemetery.
