Michael Wagner, 57

Michael O. Wagner, age 57, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Bronson At-Home Hospice in Battle Creek.
Michael was born Feb. 12, 1958, in Sturgis, a son of Richard and Barbara (Rissman) Wagner.
He grew up in Sturgis, graduating from Sturgis High School with the class of 1976. He continued his education at Glen Oaks Community College, receiving an associates degree in machine tool technology, and earned his journeyman’s card as a mold-maker.
He had been employed by Flowserve in Kalamazoo.
Michael was a big University of Michigan fan, enjoyed hunting, hockey and any type of motor sports racing, especially NASCAR.
He is survived by three sons, Aaron (Julie) Marabeas of Howe, Ind., Daniel Wagner of Centreville and Michael Wagner of Three Rivers; a daughter, Kaysee Wagner of Vicksburg; his fiancee, Della Jackson of Sturgis; six grandchildren; his mother, Barbara Wagner of Bronson; a sister, Laura Frisbie of Three Rivers; two brothers, Benjamin Wagner of Portage and John (Sharon) Wagner of Vicksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wagner, in 2007; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Frisbie.
The family will receive relatives and friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Michael O. Wagner will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David J. Farrell officiating. Cremation will follow, with private interment of ashes at a later date.
If desired, the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Michael to Bronson at Home Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
