Shirley L. Hackler, 70, of Constantine, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born on February 11, 1945, a daughter of Randall and Grace (Bigelow) Stafford. Shirley attended Constantine Public Schools. On October 3, 1963, she married John Hackler in Constantine. She held many jobs throughout her life, mainly working at Kmart in Sturgis, and Walmart, where she retired from in 2010.
Surviving are her husband John; son Jonnie (Renee) Hackler II, White Pigeon; daughter Bonnie (David) Steele, Three Rivers; grandchildren Tonya Knapp (Dustin Cole), Constantine, and Jessica Newman, Sturgis, Michael Marvin, and Jason Newman (Ashley LaPinska); great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Serenitee, Zoewi, Alyexis, Hailey, Preston, Seabaston, Charlotte, Hayden, and Orin; siblings Mary Ewing, Carl (Sharon) Stafford, Randi (Chuck) Witek, and Brad (Brenda) Stafford; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Horace & Elise Hackler, and brother-in-law Ross Ewing.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday, February 5th from 2-4 and 6-8 at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine where religious services will be held Saturday, February 6th at 11 am. Pastor John McClain, First Church of God, will officiate. Interment will follow at Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
