A 38-year-old Cass County man was arrested Tuesday after leading authorities on a vehicle chase and foot chase before being apprehended after breaking into a residence.
Detectives conducting surveillance in the community of Union noticed a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of U.S. 12 and Kessington Street.
The driver of the vehicle drove several miles before abandoning the car outside a residence on Chapel Hill Road.
A foot chase ensued, and concluded at a residence on Guyer Street, where the suspect broke into the house and attempted to steal the owner’s vehicle.
The suspect was charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, possession of a stolen vehicle, home invasion, and attempted larceny of an automobile.
The suspect, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, was also wanted on warrants for home invasion out of Cass County.
