Dep. MaKenzie Kreiner of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office has been selected as the 2015 Child Passenger Safety Technician of the Year by the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning.
The annual recognition program, now in its second year, honors those who serve as an example to other technicians by educating families about the proper installation and use of car seats, boosters and seatbelts.
Kreiner has more than a decade of experience as a CPST. She has worked closely for two years with the Maternal Infant Health Program at the Intercare Community Health Network in west Michigan and is part of the OHSP Community Car Seat Program.
In 2015, Deputy Kreiner distributed 96 car seats to help enhance the safety of area children.
