St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough said a charge of concealing the death of an individual has been filed against two people in a case related to the death of a Three Rivers-area man last summer.
Steven Stoner, 53, of Three Rivers, and 37-year-old Tracy Scott of Kalamazoo were charged after they allegedly broke into a Park Township residence where Phillip Feek Jr. was dead of a gunshot wound.
Investigators have not determined if Feek’s death was the result of foul play or suicide. He was deceased about 10 months before investigators discovered his body at the Buckhorn Road residence.
Nonetheless, McDonough said Stoner and Scott allegedly pilfered items throughout the residence and the property. Investigators said they believe the couples’ motive was money for drugs.
The two also face charges of second-degree home invasion, felony vehicle theft, and receiving and concealing stolen property.
