Edwardsburg hit by tornado

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down last week near Edwardsburg.
The agency said the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. Thursday a mile west of the community at the north end of Sundance Road, just south of U.S. 12.
A video was taken that shows debris being lofted with notable rotation. The tornado tracked in an east-northeast direction. It heavily damaged a barn, and removed shingles and part of the roof of a church south of U.S. 12. As the tornado tracked into Edwardsburg, trees were
uprooted.
It lifted near the intersection of M-62 and U.S. 12, where several more trees were damaged or uprooted.
The service said the tornado’s strongest gust was 75 miles per hour, giving it an EF Rating of zero – the least severe of the six tornado-grading categories.
